The new Brandywine Center on 744 East Lincoln
Highway in Coatesville brings together several vital health
and social services as well as provides low-income senior
housing. The building is 48,000 square feet on four floors,
with parking in the back and across the street.
ChesPenn
Health Services and Community
Dental are on the first floor,
and Child Guidance Resource
Centers and Human Services
are on the fourth floor with a large meeting room for community
gatherings, educational sessions and professional training;
and the middle two floors each have 12 apartments for the
seniors.
Special highlight: the first floor waiting room for ChesPenn
and Community Dental has the McNeil
Children’s Library with a beautiful mural painted by Cochranville artist,
Jean Dunphy. The Library’s books are for children
to take with them (they do not need to be returned), a
project being coordinated by the volunteers of the Outreach
Committee of Freedom Village Retirement Community. The
library is named in honor of Bob and Jennifer McNeil to
thank them for their generosity and commitment in serving
as our Garden Party hosts for the last five years.
The good news is that over $13 million has been raised
to date to build the Center; bringing various levels of
government funding as well as private resources into Coatesville,
important dollars that otherwise would not have come into
the community. We still need to raise just over $200,000
to close the financing gap.
Please
consider a special donation to the Brandywine
Center. Your gift now to Brandywine Health Foundation’s
Closing the Gap Campaign will have an even greater impact
because of the commitment of a generous foundation board
member Bill Kay and his wife, Brit. The Kays have made
an extraordinary pledge of $500,000 to challenge our supporters
to stretch to make a meaningful gift to this important
campaign. Gifts at all levels will make a difference. Join
the many other donors who will be listed on the wall in
the lobby of the new Brandywine Center.
Your gift has never been more important! Your generous
support of the Closing the Gap Campaign will ensure that
the Brandywine Health Foundation is able to move ahead
quickly with the final details of this project while maintaining
a financial commitment to many other valuable nonprofit
organizations in our community. (Please

2007 Community Report to learn more about the foundation’s
many grantees. Download the 1.1 MB PDF File)
