The McNeil Children's Library

Pictured left to right: Alexandra Sharber, representing the Outreach Committee of Freedom Village Retirement Community (coordinator of the book collection and organization of the McNeil Children’s Library at the Brandywine Center) receives a wonderful assortment of 50 multicultural books for the library from Kathy Barnes, Scott Middle School librarian, on behalf of the members of the Coatesville Area Teachers Association.
Many children who visit the new Brandywine Center’s medical and dental offices are delightedly taking home hundreds of new and gently used children’s books from the McNeil Children’s Library. Each time a child visits the center’s offices, he or she may take home and keep a book.
The demand is so great that the Brandywine Health Foundation encourages you to donate such books to help the library re-stock its shelves. Donations are welcome during office hours at either the Brandywine Center, 744 E. Lincoln Highway, or the Brandywine Health Foundation at 50 South First Avenue, both in Coatesville, or check with your employer as they may be accepting book donations, too.
The volunteers from the Freedom Village Outreach Committee, under the direction of Alexandra Sharber, continue to work tirelessly to coordinate the book donations and categorize the books according to age level. The children are devouring these books, they are flying off the shelves!
