Applying for
a Grant
Before applying for a grant, please
review our Funding Priorities and Grant
Distribution Guidelines.
Grant Request Procedure
The foundation accepts the Common Grant Application used
by more than twenty-five other foundations in the Greater
Philadelphia Area. It is the foundation’s goal to
simplify the application proposal so that agency staff
and volunteers can spend valuable time providing services
and programs. The foundation encourages applicants to review
their proposal concepts with foundation staff in advance
of submission.
In order to be considered for a June grant
from the foundation, the following documents are to be submitted
as a proposal in the foundation’s office by 5 p.m.
on Friday, April 11, 2008:
- One page cover letter on organization’s
letterhead signed by the chief staff officer and board
president briefly describing the proposal you are submitting
and the amount of money the organization is requesting.
Neither signature may be substituted without the express
permission of the foundation; without both signatures,
the proposal will not be considered for a grant.
- Grant
Application Cover Summary, Grant Proposal Narrative and
Required Organization Information (include Checklist
for easy reference)
The format for the
latter three forms is available by clicking above, or by
calling Joanne Pacana for a hard copy at 610-380-9080 x100.

Grant Award Procedures
By June 30, 2008, the staff, on behalf of the Board of
Directors, will send grant award packets to all grantees,
each one containing the following items:
- Grant award letter indicating the Board’s positive
response to the request, the amount awarded, the time-period
covered, and reporting requirements.
- Grant Agreement to be signed and returned promptly to
the Foundation by the grantee. This Grant Agreement outlines
the mutual responsibilities of the grantor and the grantee.
Upon receiving a signed original Grant Agreement to the
Foundation, the grant award check will be sent promptly
to the grantee.
The foundation requires the Common Grant Report one year
from the date of the grant award, or prior to filing a new
fund application (whichever date comes first) on the use
of the grant award. The report includes:
- Grant Report Cover Summary
- Grant Report Narrative, including Financial Report
