Since its inception, the primary mission of the Brandywine Health Foundation has been to ensure health coverage for those unable to obtain care for themselves and their families.

Underscoring that commitment, the foundation has given a $1 million, three-year grant to ChesPenn Health Services Inc. The grant is helping to cover the operating expenses required to provide primary care services to at-risk populations in the Coatesville area.

On July 5, 2005, ChesPenn Health Services Inc. opened its door at 1029 E. Lincoln Highway in Coatesville. Since its opening, ChesPenn has served more than 1,000 patients and anticipates serving more than 5,000 within its first three years. Many of them are patients who speak a language other than English.

ChesPenn is the only primary care provider offering a full range of services to patients of all ages, without regard to their ability to pay or the type of insurance a patient might have. These include an in-house laboratory and an on-site pharmacy. The staff includes physicians, nurse practitioners, a nurse site manager, a licensed clinical social worker, a community health educator, and clinical and administrative support personnel.

For more than three decades, ChesPenn has provided quality healthcare to the economically depressed in Chester, PA, where it currently operates three health centers. It provides quality care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. It accepts all medical insurance, and uninsured patients are cared for at reduced rates and sliding-scale fees based upon their income.

In August of 2006, ChesPenn’s services expanded to include Prenatal Care and its pharmaceutical dispensary is now up and running to provide needed pharmaceuticals to patients.

Meghan Ginty, M.D.

Dr. Ginty is board certified in Family Medicine. She graduated Cum Laude from Saint Joseph’s University with a B.S. in Biology and received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She is a proud recipient of the Philadelphia Academy of Family Physicians Memorial Prize for Excellence in the study of Family Medicine. Dr. Ginty completed her residency and training at Abington Memorial Hospital.

Christine Lyons, M.D.

Dr. Lyons graduated from Temple University School of Medicine, and completed her internship and residency at the Medical Center of Delaware. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Her areas of special clinical interest include: Complete Obstetrical & Gynecologic Care, Medical & Surgical Diagnosis and Treatment, Menopause Guidance, Stress Incontinence, Infertility and Hormonal Counseling / PMS. Dr. Lyons is also a volunteer physician at Community Volunteers in Medicine.

Lori Spoor, D.O.

Dr. Lori Spoor is a board certified Osteopathic Family Physician. She received a B.A. in biology/chemistry Pre-Med from Immaculata College and went on to obtain her Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Spoor completed her family practice residency at Florida Hospital East Orlando. She worked in a community health center in Washington, D.C. for six years before moving back to Pennsylvania.

Erica Turner, M.D.

Dr. Turner is a board certified Pediatrician and has been with ChesPenn for nearly a year. She received her B.A. in Biology from Bryn Mawr College. She then went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Vermont and completed her pediatric internship and residency at the University of Florida. Dr. Turner has extensive experience in the field of pediatrics and in the teaching field. She was a clinical assistant professor for the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Pennsylvania for over four years.
