The foundation wishes
to extend its deepest sympathies and condolences to the family
and friends of foundation board member Carla Eileen Boggs-London
who passed away on December 28, 2007. She was married to Bev
Allen London for 25 years. Carla was born in Coatesville, she
was the daughter of George Boggs and the late Charles Ann Keitt-Boggs.
Carla was a 1973 graduate of Downingtown Senior High School.
She attended Millersville University and after receiving an
academic scholarship from Pepperidge Farm, she graduated with
a bachelor of science and master’s degree in Human Services
from Lincoln University in 1992.
Carla was employed as the deputy director of Children and
Youth Services in West Chester as well as an associate professor
at Lincoln University and West Chester University. As a member
of the Brandywine Health Foundation’s Board of Directors,
Carla served ably on the Grantmaking Committee and on the Planning
Committee.

In her youth she attended
Bethel A.M.E. Church of Downingtown and was attending New Life
in Christ Fellowship of Coatesville. She loved shopping, gardening,
traveling and entertaining. She was a founding board member
of Bridge of Hope, a Coatesville-based organization working
to help homeless mothers get back on their feet.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Andre
L. Boggs Sr. of Coatesville and Troy A. London of Parkesburg,
currently serving in the U.S. Navy; five stepchildren, Tonya
Y. James, Tamicca M. Sellars and her husband, Howard, Nikiah
D. London, Andre M. London and Athan J. Allen; two brothers,
Stephen P. Boggs of Downingtown and Trent Wilkerson and his
wife, Heather, of Chicago; two sisters, Vicki L. Stonewall
of Parkesburg and Kimberly L. Boyne of Downingtown; 16 grandchildren;
mother-in-law, Pearl M. London of Coatesville and a host of
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Carla will be deeply missed.
