Resources
The Coatesville area has some of the poorest communities in Pennsylvania, despite the fact that is located in Chester County, one of the wealthiest counties in the country. It faces a host of health challenges: access to health care, dental care, prescription coverage and/or mental health services, as well as higher rates of low birthweight babies, overweight children, and chronic problems like heart disease, asthma, and diabetes. These problems are exacerbated by poverty, inadequate housing, and communities struggling to recover in this tough economy.
The Brandywine Health Foundation brings people, organizations and resources together to improve the health and well-being of the greater Coatesville community, with a focus on serving uninsured and low-income residents. We partner with non-profit organizations, individuals, businesses, government leaders and other foundations to find solutions to critical health issues, and serve as an incubator for the Coatesville Youth Initiative in order to address the broader health of young people in our community.
We hope that you will take advantage of the many health and philanthropic resources accessible below to improve your own health and to help you become more effective in improving the health of others.
We also encourage you to email us with any suggestions you may have of additional resources we should consider including on this site.
