Who We Are

The Brandywine Health Foundation formed in 2001 as a public charity, headquartered in the City of Coatesville in beautiful Chester County, Pennsylvania. In just ten years the foundation has made over $10 million in grants, contributions and scholarships – all targeted to the toughest health problems in the greater Coatesville area. The focus of these grants has been primarily on strengthening the safety net of healthcare providers in the area serving those with little or no health insurance by bringing a health center to Coatesville, helping a dental center get started, and partnering with the local school district to bring behavioral health services to the community. 

In addition to direct grants, the foundation secured over $13 million in financing and donations to build the Brandywine Center, a health and housing center in the heart of Coatesville. Building on these successes, the foundation launched the Coatesville Youth Initiative two years to address the broader health needs of young people.

What We Do

The Brandywine Health Foundation brings people, organizations and resources together to improve the health and health care of all people in the greater Coatesville area. We partner with non-profit organizations, individuals, businesses, government leaders and other foundations to find solutions to critical health issues.

Our primary focus is to provide grants and to serve as a resource to non-profit organizations working to: improve access to healthcare, dental health, prescription coverage, and mental health services to the uninsured and under-insured. Other priority funding areas include nursing scholarships and injury-prevention services. And, we bring together individuals, organizations and businesses throughout the area to help young people in the Coatesville Area School District grow into healthy, productive adults.
